Greg “Craola” Simkins – Artist Spotlight

As a Torrance resident, I am proud to say that Greg “Craola” Simkins has put Torrance on the map in the world of artists and Graffiti. Going by the name of “Craola” since he started Graffiti Art at South High School around the age of 18, he pursued his artistic talents receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from California State University of Long Beach. From there he was involved in numerous large projects such as Treyarch/Activision where he worked on video games including Tony Hawk 2X, Spiderman 2 and Ultimate Spiderman. Since then he has become an independent full-time artist.

A fantasy sideshow, of your more outlandish dream of creatures is what you encounter in each Simkins piece inspired by elements from pop culture, the old masters, nature, carnival kitsch and most importantly, a warped imagination.

His dark and mysterious paintings are one of a kind and has inspired artists and designers around the globe.
